COMMITMENTS ON DIVERSITY, EQUALITY AND WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT

Introduction

The IMEDD is an international and independent research and information institute created in 2011 by a woman, Virginie Lelarge, specialized in environment, sustainable development and climate change whose goal is to assist the countries and businesses in the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
As part of this own sustainable development policy of development, the IMEDD is committed to diversity, equality and women’s empowerment.
The IMEDD created the UNSDG18’s initiative during COP25 in Madrid, whose goal is to reinforce the other 17 points of the UN Sustainable Development Goals to help the countries reach the goals, especially in the fields of environment, sustainable development, climate change and women’s empowerment.
The IMEDD commitments are related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Women.

Commitments of the IMEDD

  • Achieve gender equality and empower women and girls,
  • Offering job opportunities to disabled people,
  • Providing equal access of work,
  • Working with partners who are committed to the UNSDG (diversity, equality of chances and women’s empowerment),
  • Helping governments and public organizations in promoting diversity, equality of chances and women’s empowerment,
  • Helping businesses in implementing and assessing their diversity, equality of chances and women’s empowerment plans,
  • Promoting diversity, equality of chances and women’s empowerment plans,

The IMEDD created the UNSDG18-F: Women for the earth which follows several goals:

  • promoting women’s entrepreneurship in the field of environment, sustainable development and climate change,
  • helping the fight against violence made on women and children.
